Fears, Phobias and Anxieties
Fears are often an understandable way we have of protecting ourselves – for example we may have been bitten by a dog in our childhood and as an adult are very cautious when being approached by a strange dog; we may be afraid of climbing up ladders or worried by heights. However, these fears are rational and can be justified - they help to protect us in everyday life.
However, what if our fears are disproportionate, persistent and irrational? What if we start to become obsessional about them and they interfere with our everyday lives? This is where we could class our fears as phobias. Pure hypno-analysis is a fast, gentle and effective way of permanently resolving your phobia.
.
As children we sometimes experience frightening and unpleasant situations; however, because we are only children we cannot deal with the emotions generated and we therefore block out (or repress) the memory of the event and/or the memory of the emotions involved. Later on, in adult life, when we experience everyday stress or something that triggers those original “bottled up” emotions, we will project them outwards onto something, often unrelated to the original problem. Hence a phobia will develop – an external symptom of an internal anxiety.
Phobias can be lived with – it is when they start to interfere with your life or to alter the quality of your life, that you may want to “sort it out” – to find the root cause of the phobia and thus relieve the symptoms permanently.
During 8-12 sessions of hypno-analysis, in the comfort and privacy of the therapist’s office you will link and connect thoughts, memories and emotions back through time until the original cause of the problem is reached. As an adult you will be able to understand how as a child those events were so difficult to handle.
Some of the more Common Phobias include:
However, there are many other phobias – in their own way they are all an external symptom of an internal anxiety. Usually the phobia will have no direct link to what is actually feared, our subconscious has just decided to project our fear onto one or more specific outlets – be it phobias, panic attacks, sexual problems, etc.
If you are prepared to devote the time and effort to be free of your problem then please call me now and make an appointment. You will find Analytical Therapy a fascinating route to greater self-knowledge and understanding. Successful analysis will reduce overall anxiety and remove the intensity of emotion connected to the phobia permanently.
